Samskara
Wedding
A full Vedic wedding ceremony (Vivaha Samskara) performed before Agni, the sacred fire, as the eternal witness — one of the sixteen samskaras that mark a Hindu life's most sacred milestones.
What the ceremony includes
The priest leads the couple through Kanyadaan, where the bride is entrusted to the groom; Saptapadi, the seven steps around the sacred fire, each carrying its own vow — food, strength, prosperity, happiness, children, harmony and lifelong friendship; and the tying of the Mangalsutra.
Planning your date
Weddings are scheduled well in advance to secure an auspicious muhurtham and the full ceremony time at the temple. Contact the office early to reserve your date and priest.
What to bring
Talk with your priest ahead of time about the specific items your family's tradition calls for — the mangalsutra, garlands, and any regional customs. Our priests can guide you through the full list.
