1979

June 1979

Inception

The first Executive Committee meeting was held under the leadership of Dr. A.V. Srinivasan, one of the Founders and President of CVHTS.

1980

March 1980

Our first step

Federal tax-exempt status was granted to CVHTS.

1981

January 1981

Temple Board

Dr. V. Manohar was elected Chairman of the Board of Trustees.

1985

October 1985

Land Acquisition

CVHTS purchased the land in Middletown, CT to build the temple.

1985

November 1985

Bhoomi Puja

The Bhoomi Puja was conducted at the temple site. A major donation of $50,000 by Dr. Surendra Chawla, in memory of his loving mother, Srimati Parbati was made to CVHTS. The entrance hall in the temple is named after her.

1986

Ground Breaking

The ground-breaking and temple foundation was laid by Yogendra Singh of L & S Construction, Inc., Trumbull, CT.

1992

August 1992

First Priest

Sri Ramachandra Bhattar became the first priest in the history of CVHTS.

1999

May 1999

Pranapratishtapana

The Pranapratishtapana was held for the temple's main deity Sri Satyanarayana Swamy, his consorts Sri Devi and Sri Bhoodevi, and Sri Ganesha. The deities sculptures were carved out of krishnashila (black stone) by a well-known sculptor Sri. Venkataramana Bhat of Bangalore, India.

Sanctification

The 12th anniversary of the sanctification of the temple (12th-Year-Pranapratishtapana) was held for the temple's main deity Sri Satyanarayana Swamy, his consorts Sri Devi and Sri Bhoodevi, and Sri Ganesha.
